This week my younger brother Troy was in a serious car accident on a major highway in Canada. By the grace of God he is alive, and currently in stable condition, some internal bleeding, deep gash in his arm and a few broken bones in his back. Please keep in prayer if you remember him, his wife just gave birth to their second child last week, and their entire family is in need of rest and strength. Also pray for the doctors to act with wisdom during this critical stage. His spine is OK, he can talk/think, but only time will tell the ultimate effects of this trauma.
Relieved that he is alive and looking hopefully to fully recover, we’ve been pondering just how fleeting and precious this life is. I’m also driving more carefully, Ukraine has some of the highest auto fatality rates in all of Europe.
This week I’ve been enjoying catching up with Texas work, as well as spending a few hrs each day working on the Cafe. Here’s a picture of the beautiful wood walls coming together, I enjoy staining, it’s relaxing and allows for conversations with different people, and even prayer. I was telling Deb how manual labor has it’s advantages, I find sitting behind a computer all day very difficult to multi-task, it’s one thing to the next.. but when you are painting, you can pray, ponder scripture, generally leave feeling pretty edified, I like it!
Been mediating on the Peace of God this week. Jesus wants us to have it, it’s a gift, after all, He is the Prince of Peace:) Here are some promises.
The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, Because he trusts in You. – Isa 26:3
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful. – Col 3:15
“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful. – John 14:27
For more, come Sunday, I’m preparing to share on the Peace of God, how to get it, and how to keep it!
Sincerely,
Bruce & Deb
Praying for your brother and all the fam.
